Hello all, i recently installed the e3 flasher into my ps3 and when i power on my ps3 i get an error message saying that the system could not start because it couldn't find appropriate system media or something like that? and all the lights on the e3 flasher are on except for the blue ones, so all the green and the red power one. I don't know if that's normal as this is my first time installing the e3 flasher. and i have my hdd installed in the esata station and yes it is connected to the ps3 via sata cable, can some one please tell me how to fix the error message and what all the lights on mean? thank you.

I had the same problem. It's because your esata station isn't reading your hard drive. I tried probably a dozen times fully disassembling my ps3 and reinstalling the E3 from scratch and could never get the esata station to work. What I finally ended up doing is just using the E3 flasher without it to unbrick my PS3. You'll end up having to unbrick or do whatever operations you need to do with the flasher, then remove it from your PS3 so you can hook your hard drive back up

It's a pain in the butt and I don't know about you but I feel kinda cheated because something I paid for doesn't work but not much you can do about it unless somebody else managed to get it to work and we're just missing something

So then your saying that for me to downgrade from 4.31 to 3.55 there's no need to have the esata dock connected? Just run through the steps? And is all the lights on when the ps3 turns on normal? Thanks for the reply btw.

Yeah, you can do all of the flashing operations without your hard drive connected. Once you get a valid dump and reflash it following the instructions, you take your PS3 back apart and remove all the E3 components, put your PS3 back together with your hard drive in the normal place and continue with the factory service mode steps to install a lower firmware. I know it's a pain and believe me I tried several dozen attempts before giving up on the esata station. I don't know about the one that you got but the esata station I received seemed very cheap. It was so cheap that I had to double check that I didn't get a clone E3 flasher
