I was surprised to not find any threads on this yet. I currently have Ermac CFW 4.30 installed on my phat. What is the best method to get back on a firmware where I can then install Rebug's latest???

I found this online. You need to be on 3.55 ofw or cfw to install ErmaC CFW. Please downgrade using the proper procedures (999 downgrader from Rebug team is the best option) and after downgrading please install and run 'toggle_qa.pkg' on your PS3 before upgrading again to the new version.

Use exactly the same precautions on upgrading/downgrading used on other CFWs to avoid any complication. Enjoy!

I don't have a ps3 anymore so I can't say weather it will work but its a good start for you to look.

Your not finding anything because you no longer have to downgrade. Just put rebug 4.30 on your usb and update straight over ermac.

    This is from Rebug's website:
    REBUG 4.21.x AND HIGHER

    INSTALL:
From XMB install REBUG 4.21.x AND HIGHER over any 3.55 OFW/CFW/MFW or the same or lower firmware version CFW with spkg sig check patched or any firmware version CFW with spkg sig check patched and QA enabled.
"...the same or lower firmware version CFW"

I'd rather not risk the unknown straying from this statement. There is probably a good reason why they say same or lower firmware version. Also, I do not know if I am currently QA enabled or not.
Edit: Rebug Toolbox "Utilities" section does not even show a "Toggle QA Flag" entry

I tried the 999 downgrader. MD5 checks out, but installing from XMB I get an error "data is corrupted". Attempting to install from recovery mode, I get the error that there are "no applicable updates". I tried 2 USB Thumbdrives (yes FAT32 formatted)

New secondary question (a bit off-topic from this forum but related to the original thread): What are the repercussions of installing the newest Rebug 4.21 on a console that *DOES NOT* have QA flag enabled?

    Help me
    (Bump)

It would definitely appear that my QA is not enabled. The L1+L2+L3+R1+R2+Dpad down does not bring up the additional settings. Toolbox shows no entry for QA flag. I have attempted, from XMB and Recovery mode, to use 999 downgrader, to install stock 3.55, to install rebug 4.21, to install rebug 4.30, all of these do not work. Am I screwed?
