Downgrade gone wrong (I think)

So, i followed this guide: Ultimate Fool Proof Guide: Ps3 Hardware Downgrading - PS3Hax Network - Playstation 3 Hacks and Mods

I have the e3 nor flasher (solderless) and an eclips3 dongle and went ahead with it and all looked good. I think i did wrong on the part with getting the ps3 out of service mode. I was originally stuck with "rogero 4.21" but i couldn't install qa_toggle.pkg as it didn't appear when i plugged in the stick, and i'm stuck in service mode. After some tampering i'm not stuck in what seems to be ofw 4.21 for some reason in service mode.

When plugging in the e3 flasher and trying the procedure again from scratch the ps3 just shuts off when i start the e3 flasher and don't really have any error message. Updating to 4.31 the normal way just gives a red error screen.


Summary: Stuck in 4.21 OFW and service mode and ps3 shuts of when trying to downgrade with the flasher.



Anyone got any suggestions?

suggestion: reflash your patched dump. then downgrade

Can you please be a bit more specific. I have just followed a guide like a drone, and fall a bit short on knowing specifics. So i just put the original dump which i took at the start of the procedure and let that be the only file on the flasher and run it like i did the downgrading process?

m8, did you read the wiki at all before attempting this?

upload your dump to mediafire.com and give me a link.
i will patch the dump for you.

then put the patched dump on your sd card and flash it. then since your already in FSM, you will skip the part about triggering FSM and just continue to downgrade normally.
you may be better off to let someone complete this process for you.

right now....
when you turn on the console, does the ps3 stay on or .... does it shutoff?

you better hope the original dump is good. if the console is shutting off and you have a bad dump your console could be toast

In the process of uploading it now. I did read the guide, it's requirements and i got the items and went with it. I'm fully capable of doing this procedure, i just have to become familiar with the process.

I did check most of the dump with the hex editor and it seemed to be all correct. I didn't check everything though as the process of checking all that did my head in.

thanks for the tip. Didn't do it the first time either, but out of curiousity, what happens if i do?

youll have to reflash if you install firmware

now take lv2diag 366kb and rogero cfw and put it on root of thumb drive, put in right side usb port and then boot ps3
when done, put lv2diag 292kb on root by itself and then into right side usb port and boot ps3

then install toggle qa, then install whatever cfw you want.
