I did not see how it was named however I did try to load it with different options...

like my first save was with direct boot and when I exited and went back to the backup manager, tried it without direct boot the save was not there.

Tried it again with direct boot on and the save was there...

you have cleared it up when you mentioned you're using Direct-Boot, that's it, when you load a game with direct-boot the Manager's ID will be used instead of the game's ID and this cause some save games or trophies problems for some titles, while other few titles runs fine without any problems, like Ridge Racer 7, WipeOut, Dragonballz, etc...

Also if you load a game with Direct-Boot and it worked fine, then you should always load it with direct-boot to have the current game saves working because if you load it again from XMB it won't load the previous save files created with Direct-boot due to the different ID's used between the 2 methods.

It happened that this game you're trying to load have the saves related somehow to Gaia manager's ID, you should be able to change the files so they use the Rogero manager's ID which is "LAUN1345" or simply use Gaia to load your old saves properly,or....delete the old save files and start a new game with Rogero Manager

No, you'll be fine,the new 7.8 will overwrite the old 6.1 version without deleting anything ( 6.1 is too old now, you'll find a big improvement in 7.8 )
Also make sure to use the same package used before (LAUN12345 or LAUN12353) so it will overwrite the old manager, normally it's LAUN12345.

This depends on your "games" folder location, with Rogero 7.8 you can change the selected "games" folder from the settings inside the manager, you can select from a list of paths the folder you want to use for games.

A good thing to do, if that you move the games folder to a safe path like "dev_hdd0/game/games" independent from any manager (you can use BlackBox FTP server to move the games folder)

games folder u mean the internal of the ps3 not the GAMEZ folder if u have a external ryt??


yes, no problem at all,just make sure that you use a "games" folder path compatible with Gaia then you can load the same folder with Rogero 7.8 by simply changing the settings to use that same folder.

You have to use BlackBox FTP server on the PS3 and an FTP client on PC like FlashFXP, FileZilla etc...
- You FTP to PS3, you go into dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/
- You select the "games" folder, right-click on it, use the function "move"
- Now you select the new path for it, "dev_hdd0/game/"

It will move the folder to the new path, then you'll have to go into Rogero Manager 7.8, press "Select", it will show you the current settings and asks you if you want to change them, select yes, while in the setup select the new "games" folder path and you're done.

you can do that whole business much easier with comgenie's file manager

Hi. I recently bought an external hard drive 320GB. When i formatted it NTFS ps3 and rogero manager wont recognize the external drive but when i formatted it in FAT 32 the system can recognized it. But my problem now is that when i downloaded a game from the internet it wont fit into the external drive since there is a file that is 6.8 GB while FAT32 only handles 4GB and below. Can you recommend a solution?

You Press R3 just the first time to set "Patch Mode = On" for this game,and it will always stay "On" fot GT5 unless you turn it back "Off".
When you'll load the game the first time, the manager will notify you about the "Param.SFO" file's version = 3.50 and will ask you if you want to change it to 3.41 , you select yes and it will be fixed automatically with the option to restore the original "param.SFO" version anytime later in case you needed to (maybe with future CFW, etc.. )

I never used any of these 2 utilities that I have attached to the end of this post as I only dump my games discs from the manager itself, but i think these 2 tools both works great for your need

Hello,
The Manager itself is not the problem, the problem is that the PS3 system itself only support the FAT32 file-system and not the NTFS (the Xbox360 is the same by the way, only FAT32).
And knowing that FAT32 only supports files up to 4GB in size,that's why there is many utilities to help splitting files > 4GB to fit them on the external FAT32 HDD used to keep the games.
You can use the 2 programs that I already attached to the previous post for splitting files > 4GB (for games and movies etc..)
