I never even noticed this thread until today. I wonder what I can contribute.

anything and everything, passing psd file around is a great way to learn and get insipiration
i never noticed this thread either, till today. when i got spare time from school, i will def be joining in. i am new to photoshop and i look forward to joining in and getting pointer :P
EDIT: I have something colorfull you may can do something with. i dont have the psd file anymore tho, my win xp pro hdd crashed with everything on it, but anyways, here is a few things i have worked on in the past, i got bored with it because i felt like i couldnt really learn, and i have no idea what alpha channels and vector masks ect ect, i would really love to learn alot more. anyways here are a few pics...

the best way to learn mate is with tuts ive posted a few here and if you like them ill send you some more,
yeah tutorials are great, but alot of them leave out very important details.
but i made these just experimenting, lol.
you think you could make a gfx with some alpha channels and upload the psd file so i can really check out whats going on, and how they are used. i would also like to learn how to only edit certain parts of photos. you do some great work m8, and i would love to be anywhere near as good as you.
i only use alpha channels for rendering mate never in tags
