Will a LEGO LOTR disc work on my jailbroken 3.55 PS3?

I jailbroke my PS3 over a year ago and I have not bought a game since, almost all of my games are downloaded right now and that works great. I'm using the 3.55 kmeaw I believe. This christmas my cousin gave me the LEGO Lord of the Rings game for PS3, and I'm wondering if it's worth taking out of the plastic. Will it work to play the game or will it require an update for the PS3 system?

I don't think that it was ever patched 100% correctly to run on 3.55. I think you'd need to update to 4.21 Rebug or 4.30 Rogero 2.03. The game does play though. I can play it on 4.21 Rebug

Okay, so a retail version of the game would not simply run on my 3.55 kmeow system?

Of course it's not going to run from disc. PS3 discs stopped working on 3.55 with Portal 2 a long time ago. You would either need to play it from a backup that has been patched or update your CFW to 4.21 Rebug or 4.30 Rogero 2.03

Thanks for your reply, I think I'm getting closer to the solution. You say ''play it from a backup that has been patched'', could you clarify? Kind of a noob in all this.
Also, if I patched up to 4.21 or something else, would I be able to play my older games? FIFA13, Red Dead Redemption etc.

I will put it this way,

If you have a 4.30 CFW then all retail games would work on it up to OFW 4.30

If you have 3.55 CFW this can't be possible. Usually when people are on CFW they do not bother buying games not the other way around....

Excellent! So most games have crackfixes for 4.30 rogero, for example FIFA 13?
Also, could anyone refer me to a user-friendly guide from 3.55 kmeow to 4.30 rogero?
