Update COD - Black Ops to ver. 1.09.
Update COD - Black Ops to ver. 1.09. –
11-20-2011,02:39 PM
I have OFW ver 3.72 PS3 and a JB 3.55 PS3, today I tried to play COD - Black Ops with my nephews, using Lan party, but the hosted game could not be seen, using either of them as host. I know the OFW 3.72 PS3 is upated to latest ver 1.13 and the JB 3.55 PS3 is ver 1.7 because above ver 1.9 can't be played on JB 3.55. I guess the problem is that the games is on different updates? I now got a PKG with 1.9 update, which I can install on JB 3.55 PS3. I can delete the update on the OFW PS3, but is there any way to update the OFW 3.72 PS3, to game update 1.9 only?

delete the game data install (in game menu on xmb) for black ops and install the 1.09 update, just dont delete the saves, had similar issues with version numbers when trying to play lan games
its not piracy if you dont own a sword or a parrot

Thank you for your reply, I know I can delete game data, but is it possible in any way to update COD - Black Ops on a "normal 3.72 ofw" PS3, to game update ver 1.09? The official online game update is now ver 1.13.

ah, sorry man - read it too quickly and didnt notice one was official - dont know how you'd go about installing an update pkg on ofw - when i had the issue it was 2 cfw ps3s :0.
i know you can manually download update pkg files from the internet - brewology being an example (so you can get the 1.09 update etc) then you'd just delete the game install data and install the relevant one to make them the same
but as far as i know you cant do that on ofw, it'll only install the most recent one via the actual ps3 and not via pkg, which always seemed a bit odd to me considering not all ps3s are online and as you can update your ps3 via usb you'd think you could update your games the same way or that they'd at least have a way that you could do it without using the ps3 and transfer it via pc
afraid someone else may have to help you with this one as i dont know and have been on cfw pretty much since i got mine

hey bud, was just wondering if you sorted the cod update issue, completely forgot to suggest trying ps3proxy - fairly sure that didnt need a cfw to work a while ago although i dont know if they ever fixed the issue

Thank you for reply. I have been thinking of the ps3 proxy method too, but I have a pkg update file, I guess the files have to be in another format for updating via ps3proxy?

i honestly dont have a clue mate - thought any pkg file would install using that method?
as long as the ps3 recognises it as 'installable' of course (which i would've assumed a game update would be) - so no homebrew etc would work
dont know if i'm right on that one though :0.
