Question regarding the use of NTSC .PSV save files on PAL games... –

Hi all, just have a quick question regarding regions and .PSV save files for PS2 games...
Basically, I own a NTSC-J CECHA01 machine in a PAL region (AUS)... I have a PAL legitimate-copy of NFS underground 2 and I use a Cobra USB dongle to circumvent the region lock of PS2 games... I downloaded a 100% completed save file in .PSV format for this game (the uploader of the save was from the US) I copied it to the virtual PS2 memory card slots on the PS3 etc. etc.... But the game is failing to recognize this save file... From my last 2 hours of browsing up on this topic, I can gather that my problem maybe caused by the save file being NTSC and the game disc being PAL...
Can anyone confirm that this is definitely the cause of NFSU2 not recognizing the save file? I also can not get a straight answer regarding the conversion of .PSV saves from NTSC to PAL... Is it possible at all?
OR are NFSU2 save files locked to the console in which they were created? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated because this game is great for just doing up cars and drifting and ripping awesome burnouts haha... Brings back a lot of memories!!!
Thanks again

Never mind guys, I "obtained" if you will, a NTSC copy of this game and can confirm that .PSV save files do not work outside the region in which they were created.... Cheers anyway....
