PS3 slim- no signal black screen, no controller syncing

My PS3 slim (cech 2501b) has been freezing frequently during gameplay. Yesterday it froze in the middle of gameplay, and I got that pink picasso looking image, kinda like what you get when you yank the dvi cord out of your pc's gpu. I wasn't too annoyed as I would just do a hard restart. Not this time. The PS3 isn't sending signal to TV anymore, the power button doesn't shut off the PS3 (i have to pull the plug) and the controller doesn't sync (all 4 led's keep flashing when PS button is pressed). Doesn't seem to be a YLOD or RLOD. Actually I get a green light, and the normal white light from the BD ROM, which turns blue once a disc is inserted. Fans run, disc spins, hard drive spins, beeps like normal. The physical PS3 seems to behave fine.

From sifting through pages and pages of online posts, I tried all the solutions suggested. I did the trick to reset settings, where you hold down the power button until 2 beeps to get into the recovery console. I hear the beeps, but nothing comes on the screen. Given the circumstances, I assume the PS3 is infact going to the recovery console, but I just can't see it since the TV gets no signal. I tried composite cable and HDMI, interchanging them on several TV's, ran it with brand new hard drive, ran it with no hard drive, let sit a whole day, etc. Nothing.

Dear experts, if you can suggest something I haven't already tried, what are you waiting for? Tell me what's wrong with my PS3, and possible solutions. Thanks!


PS. I'm not willing to lose my 3.55 firmware through by updating, etc.. However, I'm perfectly fine losing all the data on its hard drive.

Sorry, but it looks like a hardware problem, and frequesnt freezing was a sign.
