Ps3 Game troubles [Newbies]
Ps3 Game troubles [Newbies] –

So i just got my ps3, 3.55 CWF, with that purchased, i also got 500gb worth of games on my external and a couple of GB in my internal.
Some of the games on my external will freeze at a black screen after i start it. When i starts it, the games usually ask if i want to update to the latest version, i press no. Some of the games works fine (Uncharted, PES 2011, Dead to right: Retribution) but most of them doesn't work like Final fantasy, GT5, Battlefield: BC2, Tekken 6.
My question is, am i suppose to press update? cuz im afraid that the update will also update the Firmware.
And if not, is there a way to fix this other than re downloading the entire games?
Thanks

updating may cause it not to function if updates are signed with newer firmware keys
you can try button combo's when loading sometimes that works or maybe a new ubs dongle with jailbreak

You should never update unless, its through multiman update menu, for all your game troubles your going to have to do some research, some games may require eboot fixes, or they werent meant to be played externally, like ff13, because they have large file sizes.
Also do you have a disc in your ps3 at all times some games cant run discless.

Some things to check:
Update multiman to newest (can be done from ps3 within multiman or by downloading pkg from this site)
install BDEMU.pkg (google it)
Try usb bd emulation (setting in multiman for black screen games like mw1 and 2)
Research the games not working for maybe fix's or patches to see if anyone else has problems with that game)
Sometimes games get corrupt and need to be deleted , if its a constant problem format your hdd
if your receiving errors , google them
