Possibly there is a method to play 3.66 games on CFW 3.55 with a simple program.

Allright guys, I ain't bringing any groundbreakin' news. Now that this is outta the way:

There is an existing method to play games up to 3.66 with CFW3.55, actually it's just a simple program.

So here's the story: I have a friend. He owns a cracked XboX, but has been hacking Systems from all scenes. He also has a brother who owns a "hacking" store. Basically it's where you come to when you need to either buy a console, burned games, or have your console/phone hacked and/or fixed. That guy has a partner which does all the cracking, hardware and firmware alike, And he is a real pro at it.
We visited this brother of his today, and when I expressed my dismay about the situation of the PS3 Scene, the lack of a solution and the questionable nature of DH's JFW and it's existance, the brother was suprised I did not know we can already play games up to OFW 3.66 on 3.55CFW.

Needless to say, I was shocked. I thought he was bullsh*tting me at first, but he was dead serious. he doesn't know the name of the program, but his partner does and uses it. He even proved it to me by playing Shadow Of the Damned on PS3 CFW. that's when i knew this sh*t was real!. I'm right now workin' hard on getting the name and source of that program. Just tought to let you guys know that this MAY exist!.

I am not sure of it, nor can I guarantee delivery. Just tought to share.

It would be not best to tell anyone... once it gets blown out of proportion Sony will patch it up.... im pretty sure hackers already found a way to play the newer games on the CFW and honestly its not that difficult to the average hacker

Yes, I thought so too. IF the guy will request me to keep it quiet, that's considering he'll even share it, I'll respect it.

However if I do get permission I will post it. YOu are right tought, SONY will patch it up. But perhaps SONY already did patch it up, seeing as it only works up to 3.66.

I say tell us regardless. It is not like Sony can come patch my offline ps3.

So your friend has a brother that has a partner that has a program that he put on your friends brothers console that you have personally witnessed it playing a 3.66 game but you do not know what the name of the program is?
You are not able to look at the hacked console and find out what the name is?

Something almost smells a bit trollish with this.
At least that's what my Wife's brothers uncles best friends sisters boyfriend said when he read it.
I haven't talked to him yet, but If I do then I will make sure that's what he said.


Seriously though.........if this is real.........how would Sony patch it if they are not given access to the CFW on our consoles?
If it works on "up to 3.66 games" why would it really matter at this point.
Are more 3.66 games being developed or are they all being done for newer firmwares?

How could Sony patch it? they cant, the all realistically they could do is make a new patch for all the games that require FW 3.66 and above, but you will still be able to play the games without the patch. If you do have the permission to post the name of the program, do not worry about it being patched up, and dont hesitate to release it, the PS3 scene is dying and with programs like the ones you just mentioned could really be helpful to the scene.

I'm pretty sure he means patching for future games, though I have to say, this is looking more suspicious than JFW.

I talked with my friend. Even though I agree with you all, I mean, the Version is old, how can they patch it??.

Nevertheless, he haid the program is useless. It stopped working at about August. Maybe earlier. SO anyone who want to play Deus Ex, Dark Souls, El Shaddai or anything, will probably have to wait abit longer.

FYI, it "stopped working" because of OFW 3.70. Oh, and it's "useless" because there aren't any 3.6x games that don't already have a 3.55 fix.
