an error occured during the start operation 8001009

I get this error when trying to launch many games in Multiman. I am on Rebug 3.55

Right now I get this error with Street Fighter x Tekken, Vanquish, Motorstorm Apocalypse,

with Mortal Kombat, the screen goes black and system just locks up completely forcing me quit through xmb, but even if I do that, the PS3 beeps two times and restarts completely. Army of Two: 40th Day does the same thing.

I am assuming this has something to do with the fact that some of these games require 3.56? But I thought I saw somewhere on the forums that there's a fix to play 3.56 games in 3.55? I cant find this thread. Please help.

you're getting that error because those games require higher keys. I remember playing Vanquish but don't remember a patch for it. I'm pretty sure I had it on external drive and hit select+x in multiman to do the BD redirection. I know there's a required patch for Mortal Kombat. Search google for "Mortal Kombat 3.55 patch". You can do that for any game and it will tell you if it's playable or not. I can help you out for MK9. Download this https://rapidshare.com/files/1214028685/MK9.zip and install all the pkg files inside the archive. It works for the US version. If your game id doesn't match, use an SFO editor to change the game id of your disc backup to match the one in the filenames. The other two aren't playable. I know that street fighter x tekken isnt playable yet and dont even think there's been a tb eboot either but Motorstorm is playable
(mine works fine from external)
although fairly sure it required a patch too and think you cant update it either
(never connect the ps3 to the internet so not 100% sure on that)

I thought Motorstorm was an unpatched TB game. Never played it, but search google for "Motor Storm Apocalypse 3.55 patch" and it will either bring up a compatibility list or the patch

nope, I've actually just checked and I've still got the modified eboot for motorstorm

I always keep patches and stuff as well my originals in a nice little organised folder
(think I've actually got most 3.55 modded files for every game up until the last week or so, lol - sad I know, figured I never know when I might need one)

Any chance you could let me dl those patches?

Also, which CFW are you guys on? I have rebug, and I have a feeling it's the root of my problems. I remember when I was on Kmeaw, I played Mortal Kombat just fine. That was a very long time ago though.

I'm on kmeaw and never had any problems so never changed although if i get myself a tb soon then I may have to change

oh, and as for Vanquish - no patch needed so I dont have one,
nor do I have the game sorry but have seen this in the past for that particular game:

make sure its a clean rip to start with,
(the large 9gb file should be intact)
delete game data,
move to internal,
install the game data again,
quit game,
move it to external via multiman
(files should be correctly split when this is done)
apparently the mandatory install will only actually install from the internal - same as Heavy Rain
