cod mw3 doesnt work - disc read error

instantly after it starts when i go to the barely visible or easily visible configuration test for color cotnrast, i keep getting "disc read error" and it loops.
what do i do???

i have it on internal, downloaded and installed the pkg fix, and ran it from multiman with no go. saw a post from a mod here that ticking "br mirror and internal" would work, and it got me in game, but i get disc read error

Sounds like a bad rip or something went wrong when you ftp'd it over. Try copying it over again, if possible using a different ftp client. Some have problems with large files (over 1 or 2 gig). If you are on 64bit windows try to stay clear of filezila. Core FTP seems to work ok, not the most usable though but does the job.

Personally I avoid using FTP for large files. For one, I rip all my games from original disc. I have on occasion run out of room on my internal hard drive, so I transfer them to an external hard drive, then to my PC. When I want to play the game again, I'll just do the same process in reverse. If you have an external drive, I suggest doing this.

why do i need to do the bd mirror?

Look, you have a bad dump. So where ever you got the back up from, delete it and try again.

Error 80010017 can indicate the fix is not working, but if the game starts then crashes, that likely means you have a bad dump.
