COD:BOII Server unavailable = ban?

Guys this is from first hand experience

Bad news: you are banned, and will lose you black ops psn account plus if you want to remain unbanned you need to update to OFW for multiplayer
Good news: you can unban yourself in 2 minutes

Treyarc in a attempt to stop cfw users have found a way to identify the cfw on your system
But they have only banned your game ID and IP address of the console
Note: THis is NOT a mac ban
You need to change the ip of your system and create a new psn account and I am using a proxy to be safe but I'm sure that's not necessary

It's the old catch 22

Treyarc are saying if you want to play online then you need to run OFW basically!!
Oh and the small side note of you need a new psn and up address which is easily done

I have a flasher so can go back and forth cfw/OFW I have been playing for 1 hour no problem

If you do update to OFW you will notice that to start with it will still say server unavailable but the version number will change after and you can access the server

Hope that clears it up a little

Not ideal but at least we know it is somewhat possible to re gain access to the servers

If you want find out if your banned go into multiplayer on the game and look at the top right hand side of the screen, the version id is 20.0.-1 which means the server has blocked you.

i made new user and acct. the number did change 20.134.18 got to lobby 12 player the whole time(max) and never connected changed to main acct and the number changed back to 20.0.-1

but yes there are hundreds and hundreds of people complaining about this.
NOTE: I am using retail disk

wonder if they are kicking themselves in the arss for this whole "CFW" thing.
also wondering if this is a server block, whats next acct ban coming?
btw i bypassed the retinal scan lol

yeh its a server block, but only because there servers are under alot of strain and not working correctly. I have at least 4 friends that have never modded anything on there ps3 that have the retail disc and are getting the same problem, like i said in another post, i've phoned the helpline and they told me the same thing, they've had thousands of calls about this problem and they're working on it.

no what i mean is the server is randomly banning people regardless of legit or backup.

gotchya. any way of getting unbanned due to there servers getting overloaded and banning? read they stopped banning due to alot of OFW users getting banned. think its just poopy**** that even OFW users getting banned and now what, to bad we suck and you cant play thanX for your 60.00 dollars ha ha

i just read on another site that this server unavailable thing isnt banning at all, its just the server acting up and activision\treyarch\sony are all working together to bring out a patch in the next few days ... watch this space we might be saved lol
