Basically, I have really been wanting to play Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix with the English patch that came out but I have had a ton of problems. I got an ISO of the game and then used a patcher to patch the English dialogue into the game. I had it working on PCSX2 emulator but then it was not running very well after a while so I decided to try to burn it onto a DVD and then play it using Swap Magic. I ordered and got Swap Magic 3.8 (the US version for my console) and since it didn't come with tools I had to manually block the three sensors on my Slim ps2 which I have done successfully. The problem is that the ISO which I burned onto a DVD-R isn't working. I have been following the directions for Swap Magic correctly, but when I try to do it on my slim PS2 with my burned DVD or even a Normal ps2 game that I own it goes to the red screen that says to "Please insert a PlayStation 2 format disc." at this point I have no idea what to do and would really appreciate your guys' help.

Did you block all the sensors on your slimline console? Depending on your console's model, there might be two or three sensors to jam. If your Playstation 2 detects that you have replaced the disc, Swapmagic is useless.

I'm fairly certain that I have, I opened up the case and put tape over the one on the "upper middle" and that pressed the button down, I used a screwdriver and moved over the sensor and screwed that one into place for the second one, and I used some paper for the third one. The PS2 Slim now can boot Swap Magic while the top is open and the disc will spin correctly until it boots, then the disc slows down. I'm pretty sure it's not my laser either because after I opened it up I popped in Lego Star Wars and that game ran fine. Edit: Oh and I forgot to mention, the model is SCPH-70012 if that helps.

The next most common cause would be that you used cheap discs. Use Verbatim DVD-R discs that were manufactured by Taiyo Yuden or Mitsubishi. Those made by CMC Magnetics are crap as well.

The only way to tell the origins of the disc is to take one, insert it into your computer, launch IMGBurn and look at the manufacturer ID field in the information panel after selecting one of IMGBurn's modes.

Manufacturer IDs beginning with the following represent the following manufacturers:
    1. MCC = Mitsubishi
    2. TYG = Taiyo Yuden

Just try to get the DVD-R discs. It's more compatible with most Playstation 2 consoles.

Did you block the disk stopper as well? Doing that should most likely fix the problem.

Update: I've gotten a hold of some Verbatim DVD-R discs. I defragmented my game using Power Defragmenter, and patched it using ESR Patcher. I burned it to this new disc using IMGBurn, and everything was fine up until that point. I took the Swap Magic 3.8 disc and put it into my PS2 while the flip top was open, using a piece of paper to block the disc stopper from realizing that the flip top was open. The Swap Magic disc loaded, stopped spinning and I inserted my burned PS2 game. I then pressed normal boot with X and then default video and NTSC, and then quickly closed the lid. Luckily at least I don't get the red screen anymore, though what I get now is after closing the lid it tells me to select a disc, I choose the disc, and then it just goes to a black screen. I'm googling to see what common solvers are for this but so far I can't find anything. I'm pretty sure it's not the ISO because it worked with PCSX2 and it also worked when running from a USB device, just of course it was running a bit slowly. Any ideas on how to solve this black screen issue? (I've tried special boot as well, no luck) EDIT: Is it possible I need to "rebuild it" using PowerISO or something? I never did that, and the file size is 4,228,704 KB

You know it is possible that KH2FM with English patch will not work with swap magic I have seen reports it works with ESR thou so install the newbie pack and run ESR but even ESR is slow loading with English patch only fast load I have encountered is from internal HD with OPL
