ps2 black screen at startup

Hi their I'm having startup issues with my soft modded ps2 scph-70012(reemcboot8.1 noobie package).


0. All was workiing fine i was running esr patched games, snes,psx,sms etc. this issue uccured when i plugin an Ipod8gb through usb port1 in order to charge it up, but somehow it froze something up.

1. ps2 without the freemcboot card won"t display the main menu, browser,sms,ulauchelf,etc.

2. I still have access to my card by running a dvd movie in the system and going to esr- launch app.

3.I re-installed freemcboot on the mcard and still the same

4. turning on the ps2 displays a black sceen this is without the mcard, with the mcard freemcboot logo then black screen.

Plz help me solve this I would appreciate helpful suggestions thanks in advance.

Do you have a modchip? maybe the firmware of your modchip got bricked or something...

no modchip bro, do you know if there is a way to reset a ps2 firmware/bios?

Possible fix can you still hear the ocean waves if so maybe you changed or someone changed video out settings

after start and can hear the sound
down 1
x if select for your region o if diff
down 3 times
x or o again
left x or o again
this should set video to Y Cb/Pb CR/Pr or to RGB depending on setup

there is absolutely no sound or display when the system is turned on. just a black screen, the only access I have is the memory card using fmcb+esr,dvd,launch app+ulauchelf.

well during start up hold start check FMCB configurator for vid settings and change it maybe can force it threw FMCB
