I'm quite adept at modding (360, wii, orginal XBOX) but I have run into a snag--my PS2 has an Infinity v1.93 chip and runs backups fine (only in forced PAL which is odd because I'm NTSC) and as a result it runs USB Advance and uLaunchELF off disk, however, my usb drive (8GB in FAT32) is only recognized by my PS2 AFTER I launch uLaunchELF--I was under the impression that I could make it my LAUNCH TOOL (as in run uLE from usb). Is there a way to do this?

Now, once uLE is loaded my USB drive is seen and OPL is loaded off my pendrive, however, it does not recognize any games on the HDD (in FAT32)--the same HDD is recognized by USB Advance but once I choose a game USBA just goes to black screen. Any suggestions?

If possible I would like to:

    -Run uLE off pendrive
-Have games actually work in USBA
    -Have OPL recognize my HDD

Also, lastly, if I have a crossover cable can the PS2 be connected via a switch? Everyone always talks about laptops but I have yet to find a clear-cut answer to the above.

    IMPORTANT INFO:

    PS2 is SCPH-90001 NTSC-U
    Infinity v1.93 Matrix
Runs backups only in PAL (even though all my games are NTSC)

    Thanks in advance.

USBA won't load games because they may not be compatible or you may just need to patch them with USBUtil. Also what kind of HDD are you using, to my knowledge you need to have an externally powered USB HDD to run games off of. I think if you can get the crossover cable working then just go with that because there is more compatibility with games using the crossover cable vs. USBA.

you can not, because your chip does not support boot dev3.
but you can your ULE CD puts it on the memory card, renamed BOOT.ELF a folder called BOOT, ps2 start holding R1, uLaunchELF launch.
    so mco:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF

make sure that your HD is no problem in the file system, or format it again
    convert the games again
make sure you enable the USB games, the OPL
use the latest version 0.8 OPL.

with the switch or router any cable will do. (both normal and crossover)
but if direct connection on the laptop, PC and so on. should crossover.
