Problem While Updating My Firmware

Hi Everyone, I need a help from you all.. Please help me out... I used the amazebreak dongle for my 3.41 firmware to play backup games.... But from yesterday my dongle is not working anymore.... I think its damaged somehow.... Now I am stuck in the modified 3.41... Cant able to upgrade to anymore firmwares... Not even the OFW 3.41....Tried almost everything which I found in net.... But Helpless.... Whenever I tried to upgrade to any firmware I got the "8002f169 data corrupted" error.... Please help...

Hi mate, what modified firmware are you on because I thought all dongles for 3.41 ran on OFW and that dongles were only needed for firmwares like cobra that need DRM for special features.
P.S. Just for future reference you really only need to start one thread especially since new threads are shown on the front page

Download 3.55cfw and try installing from the Recovery Menu. I personally like Rebug but Kmeaw is equally as good.

There is really no reason to be on 3.41

I totally understand what you all are saying... The fact is, whenever I tried to update from the recovery, Its saying connect storage media that contains update data of version 3.56 or later and the press start and select buttons at the same time.... But I am in 3.41 actually.... And if I try to update to any firmware, even though OFW 3.41 or 3.51... Its giving me the error "8002f169 data corrupted"...... Thats the problem....

You Have Two Options:

1. You can try to find all the confusing articles with mixed advice about Fixing PS3 firmware problems, that might damage your PS3 for good…

2. Or You Can Get SPECIALIZED video guide with Step by Step Video Instructions for people just like you with detailed instructions for fixing ANY PS3 ISSUE in under 2 hours…

The console can be repaired by you. But it is recommended only if your warranty has already expired or if you believe that you can fix the problem. Even in case if you are in hurry to play your game and also confident that you can solve the firmaware problem of your PS3 then only repair it with yourself otherwise leave it for expert or Sony.

My ps3 doesnt have any problem.... With dongle it works perfectly but without dongle I am facing all those problems....

Anyone have a link to find info on making and playing back up's .im new to the ps3 and just purchesed a 3.55 mm rogero installed console but the prev owner s more interested n counting my cash than helping me

I'm having the same problem when trying to update the firmware. I used the PSBREAK dongle to play my backups. My PS3 reads firmware 3.41 but when I try to update it is looking for 3.56. If you found a solution before I do please post it.

The problem I think that u are having is that the dongle probably had a firmware spoof in the payload and it thinks that it is on 3.55 that is probably why it is asking for 3.56 or above.
