Showtime metadata is being read incorrectly
Showtime metadata is being read incorrectly –
I use the movie db plugin for showtime that pulls up artwork and info on every movie. Most of the time it identifies movies correctly and will display the info and change the name if it doesn't match exactly with the listing.
The problem I'm having is some movies that are close in name aren't read correctly. For example Clerks.mkv reads as Clerks II, and Star Trek.mkv from 2009 reads as Star Trek Into Darkness (The new one). Does anyone know how to correct the metadata info listing? I can do it for AVI files and the like but for MKV files which most of my movies are there's no way to add metadata without re-encoding. That's just not going to be practical with my collection of flicks
Maybe for future versions of showtime if you have a file named the same as the movie but with .meta extension it could read that file for the info. Example if it's just a text file you could just enter in the movie db link like this one for Star Trek Star Trek — The Movie Database
Nevermind guys. I figured it out. You just have to add the year to the file name and it fixes the ones that are read badly
