I'm new to showtime plugins, I dont have any. I tried to put the zip in the .../settings/installedplugins path and it wasn't there, so I made it still didnt work, i also tried putting it in st4_settings path and then added folder installedplugins no go? so whats wrong? havent messed with it much after that. Do i need other plugins as well? Also where does it get the "cover" images from? thanks.

Im trying to use that latest Oceanus theme BTW

Depends on what installation of Showtime you have and use.

Showtime not in multiMAN (Accessed by XMB)
    - Put the zip archive in: dev_hdd0/game/HTSS00003/USRDIR/settings/installedplugins/

or if you use Showtime through multiMAN

    - Put the zip archive in: dev_hdd0/game/BLES080608/USRDIR/sys/st4_settings/installedplugins/

no plugins are dependent on each other

The images it is gathered from the source of the video content. So sometimes you wont have an image cover or screenshot. (not sure what happens on local vides on your HDD, havent looked into much yet)

A link of showtime. if needed

Yeah those are both of the paths i figured and tried that you mentioned (as there the most obvious), I have 4.1.308 i think both multiman and XMB and stdisc.
If its detected will it showup in showtimes plugin icon thing within the program? and it should be left as zip right because thats what i did (also tried extract as well)

also is it "normal" to have to create the "installedplugins" folder manually, just want to make sure the program/plugin isn't supposed to autopopulate it for it to work

EDIT: OK got the multiman one to detected it, I'll figure out the XMB one. The xmb one also has the st4_settings folder as well just like multiman, but no setting folder except in st4_settings folder so was slightly confusing. I think I got it, now to figure the rest out. THANK YOU SIR for verifying.

My video content is all on external, and everything comes up with MISSING IMAGE, im guessing this relies on another plugin for images or a net connection, i'll enable my net as its set up for FTP to PC currently and see what happens.

Oh and BTW just for future reference, you can just browse to the plugin in showtime itself not in plugins, but where its located usb, hdd etc and click it to install.

EDIT: well, internet doesnt work for it to get images, it must rely on other plugin(s) as no "folder" was specified to put images as covers in the release.

Ive read a bit seems (like i said new to plugins) you have to make a playlist with navi-x plugin of all your images then put them on a non local address and have showtime link to it, sounds a bit ridiculous to me when showtime could just have local folder on ps3 like multiman or AVCHD does with COVER.jpg ( i guess it has something to with plugin being sandbox and cant access local, so have it not use a plugin cause showtime itself can access local directories bahaha whatever, im sure theres a better way than this)

IF THERES A LESS RETARDED WAY OFF HAVING COVER/THUMBNAIL IMAGES LET ME KNOW

As far as covers go i am not sure how it 100% works.

But take the Navi_X plugin and i highly recommend that one. (download from showtime)

some of the video services/sources will show covers other will show nothing and others show screenshots of the video. I believe it depends more on the source of the video. And how it is presented there.

I havent tested this plugin on local videos yet as i have them on an external HDD and havent hook it up with this plugin yet.

No other plugins it relies on That plugin just gives the additional views. Incase there are covers it shows or screens. Just because it is labeled as poster view ect doesnt mean that a poster will appear.. it just gives that option in case on is there like in Navi-X on the crackle channel (which is located in tv shows or movies section not sure where) There is a separate crackle plugin coming very soon as well by the same developer.

You dont have to have a playlist you can create on on Navi-X website by setting up an account. but its not required. (i myself never setup a list there, you can view other public list or the section that are in navi-X itself)

As far as the XMB showtime. if you install the above pkg in the first post it should be

    dev_hdd0/game/HTSS00003/USRDIR/settings/installedplugins/

    just like that.

OR you may just have to install a plugin from showtime. That folder may not exist if you never installed a plugin before. but installing one will for sure put it there.

Also keep in mind the plugin only works on showtime 4.1 and above.

yeah ill mess around with the navi-x plugin tomorrow i think, how do you download a plugin from within show time I know you can get updates, but if you dont have the plugin already then i dont know how to just get it via showtime.

unless you setup that url link in settings which i dont know which url to even use or how all that works yet, eeeh whatever thanks.
