Can you play 10 Gig MKV files using multiman's USB NTFS support and Showtime?

I've got a 1TB internal for games/psn content, a 2 TB usb drive for games and a 1 TB drive I'm wanting to use for movies/music. I want to format the 1 TB external drive as NTFS so I can put large (10 gig +) mkv video files on it and play it directly from the USB using multiman's NTFS support. I've gotten multiman to recognize the drive, but when I click on a large MKV file in File Manager I get an error that Showtime can't create the cache file using the current settings. Has anyone gotten this to work?

I have the same problem. i get the same error about cache. I just copy them across to the internal & they work perfect. Be nice to have the choice though :-)

That's the thing - I don't want to transfer large movies to my internal drive because it's reserved for other things, plus the hassle of transferring just to watch something would be enough for me not to bother with it. I think it's just a problem with where the cache file is created. I think it's set to wherever the video file is and since you can't write to NTFS using multiman that's where the problem is. I think the cache file would have to be set to a specific location on the internal drive and it would work. Hope someone's already got it worked out
