Hmm.. you have a point here.
But as I have told myself back in 2009 when I begun developing PS2ESDL, I didn't like the idea of licensing my stuff as some of those licenses doesn't really grant total freedom to other programmers (Take the GPL license as an example: It requires you to release the sources).
Even if there are other licensing schemes available like the AFL, I don't like the idea that my code will come with a text file that has to always be there whenever it gets used in another derived-project.
I just didn't like the idea of seeing EULAs and license texts. Agreeing to one of those seems... forceful (So I don't believe that everyone else likes that too).
So I made releases without licensing to give others true freedom.

But it still came an idea to my mind so I need to ask you if there is any chance to implement the ability to use the cdrom0: as source for USBADVANCE- or ISO9660-Mode images? I know that ps2edl's name is telling something already your answer^^, it's just that I want to know if there is some technical reason that would make such an attempt impossible.
Thank you.
Well, there is no need to launch games from cdrom0:. If you wanted to do that, why not just pop the game disc into your console and let the console launch the game the usual way?
If you meant to ask whether PS2ESDL can be adapted to look for games on other devices (Other than USB devices): YES, it can.
Just develop a plugin, name it correctly, place it in the correct place, and PS2ESDL will load it and access the device once it can.
I know that I forgot to upload a tutorial on compiling PS2ESDL, but I have been very busy with school. My final examinations are about a month away and things are getting crazier than before now.

Shouldn´t the ox-934 chipset got backward compatibilities?
Unfortunately, the answer is probably "no".
By saying that there is support for the Oxford 934 chipset, I am not saying that other chipsets are definitely not compatible.
However, my only enclosure sports an Oxford 934 chipset and seems to be the only enclosure that is detected and accessed properly by the PS2ESDL iLink plugin.
The only other enclosure that seemed to get detected and was accessible was a Seagate Freeagent 1.5TB (Or was it 1.0TB?). But I don't know what chipset was inside it.
Other devices might exhibit symptoms like those exhibited by the Prolific PL-3507: The initialization of the fetch agent never completes successfully.
So, the only way to find out whether your device is compatible is by testing it.
I think that I will make another release of the plugin soon. I found some quirks in the iLink hardware of (most) Playstation 2 consoles, so the newer versions of iLinkman are a little more stable.
