    Good Job

    2SP193

How you run these games -getaway,harvest moon?
You convert these games through the own program PS2DCDMP or usbextreme?
    Thanks for testing.
Yes, these games have been installed in the PS2ESDL format (With PS2DCDMP).

I think that I used the default cache size (2 sectors).

Have you tried running Hot Pursuit 2 with the FORCE SYNC mode enabled? PS2ESDL v0.800 had a bug causing that mode to be always partially active, so maybe the game requires that compatibility mode to run.

    2SP193,

First thanks for the update. One game I tried so far,

SLUS_214.38.Cartoon Network Racing.iso NOT WORKING - 0.810 and 0.820 (freeze on black screen after 2 loading screen)

In ISO9660 disc image (DVD) display mode, scrolling into blank black screen is still there.

I thought that I had killed that bug already... since it didn't blank out on my screen. @_@
Maybe I didn't put enough games in the DVD folder.

Dang, this is a very irritating bug.

EDIT: I'll try to push for a v0.821 release with this bug fixed ASAP.

REALLY? You don't have that bug? I have almost 15 games in the ISO mode display.

Yeah, really irritating bug. Take your time buddy... .

For your info, this(SLUS_214.38.Cartoon Network Racing) is the only game that didn't work for me with your loader. I have more than 200 games.

    FIXED IT.
It wasn't a bug in the GUI, but a bug in the ISO9660 disc image game list generator.

The USB 1.1 interface is very slow, and the slower-than-HDD speeds of most optical drives will make performance even worse (Probably even worse than that of a USB flash disk).

But I can see why it would be good for SMS though.
Do you have an idea how to write such module for SMS? Is current version of mass storage driver enough to support dvd drives? I know that that the new file sytem is needed. I thinking about write cdvdman replacement which read raw sectors from usb dvd drive.

    Sorry for bad English.

I think that I know how one should start off writing such a module:

    1. You need a copy of the CD/DVD over USB specification whitepaper (I don't think that the protocol is the same as the USB Mass Storage Device's).
    2. You will need a copy of the ECMA-119 (ISO9660) specification (And the UDF spec sheet if you intend to add UDF support).
    3. You need to own the required hardware (E.g. USB optical drive and a PS2), otherwise it'll be VERY difficult to build such a driver.
    4. You need the source code of SMS.
    5. And you must be able to compile a working copy of it (Which I cannot do).
    6. Lastly: Patience, patience and patience.

If you are keen on attempting to build such a driver and have further questions, we should continue our conversation via PM instead to avoid going off topic in this thread.

EDIT: I do know the basics of the ISO9660/ECMA-119 specification, so I might be able to help you on that.
If you cannot compile a working copy of SMS like I was unable to, you could do what I did: Just add hooks onto some parts of SMS to extend on or to replace the required functionality.
