Well, I guess that this means that GOW really won't settle for being run off the USB.
Uh... sorry to hear that.
If your mic was plugged into the PS2 via a USB hub, you might need to power the hub.
Try unplugging the mic, and plugging it back in.
I don't own any Singstar games, and I don't own a mic either... so I can't fix that.

How about the Buzz! buzzer quiz games?, I have both Disney TH!NK Fast and Who Wants To Be a Millionaire: Party Edition to try out.
I was not able to get PS2ESDL recognize any USB stick or USB HD. They are all FAT32 but PS2ESDL says that there is no USB device. These devices are recognized by uLE.
Hmm... interesting.
What about the previous version of PS2ESDL (v0.800)?
Which version of uLE are you referring to? If it's one of the latest versions (4.4x) then I think that it's a real problem in PS2ESDL since uLE 4.4x is using similar drivers.
Did you try re-plugging those USB devices?
What's your console's model, and are you using a USB hub?
Does your console have a modchip? If it does, please try to disable it first.

I have a PS2 30004 PAL without modchip.
I didn't use any USB hub.
I used ULE 4.3 and 4.42a
I get the same result from PS2ESDL v.800 and v.810
"No usable USB device"
I started PS2ESDL using ULE, the elf is located in a folder named "ELF", where there are other elfs in a USB stick and the file patches.ppi
Re-plugging device didn't work.
I believe that I am doing some mistake. Maybe this weekend I will try more extensive tests.
What about your game lists?
For USBExtreme format games, the ul.cfg file has to be on the root of your USB disk.
For PS2ESDL v1.20 format games, the PS2ESDL.cfg has to be on the root of your USB disk too.
The filenames might be case sensitive though.
If you get the "No usable USB device" message, it's caused by some failure to load either game list (Either the PS2ESDL v1.20 format or the USBExtreme format game list).

Just some minutes ago I discovered the file PS2ESDL.cfg on the root of my HD. I opened it and discovered the game list and found my mistake.
I converted ISOs on my PC because is fater to write on HD instead of USB and then I copied only the PS2ESDL folder on the USB stick.
Then I immediately entered the forum and found your reply.
You are right, PS2ESDL.cfg was missing!
As I wrote before I suspected that I was making a stupid mistake and there was no problem in PS2ESDL.
Thanks!!!
I can't seem to get Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection to work, everytime I click on one of the games I get a Black screen, I defragmented it, I'm running the latest PS2ESDL, does anyone know why it doesnt work?
A black screen? That's odd...
What's your game ID (E.g. SLXX-123499), your console's model number, and do you have a modchip installed?
Also, did you put the patches.ppi file in the correct place (The same place where PS2ESDL is launched from)?
That patches.ppi file must be the one that got bundled with PS2ESDL v0.810 (The latest release).
How did you launch PS2ESDL?
