isnīt it possible to use 2 USB in Raid or something for double speed?
Yes, you do. The i.Link interface (Also known as IEEE1394 or Firewire) was the 'rival' interface to USB. Basically IEEE1394/SBP-2 enclosures are like USB enclosures, and you connect them to your Playstation 2.
Only Playstation 2 consoles older than the SCPH-50000 series have the i.Link port.
If I understand you correctly here, your games work fine but hang when you switch on the lights and fan in your room? If yes, that might be something I cannot really help you with as it's probably related to electrical interference. :(
Maybe, but I am not going to do that. It might not be worth the trouble as both USB ports might be connected to the same USB root hub, which will mean that both ports will share bandwidth.
In that case, using two ports will not improve performance at all, but might worsen it instead (As twice the number of devices will mean twice the overhead).
Hi guys i have a problem with the game called "Black" it's an fps i've tried both opl and ps2esl, so far nothing
I get the loading screen but it never ends it's loading continually
Hmm... I got reports of that game not working on some setups, but I remember getting it working on my console when I tested it last year.
Try reinstalling the game, and ensure that the game is not fragmented (Don't use PowerDefragmenter please). Avoid flash disks if possible, as they are slow.
As far as i can tell there is zero fragmentation on my 2'5 drive, i'm using autologics disk defrag (which is better than most to locate fragmented parts)
Here is an odd thing:
- the game on my usb hdd is not fragmented (so says auslogics disk defrag) -> not loading (OPL/PS2ESDL)
- I've put the game on a usb stick and now it load (with OPL) and PS2ESDL says the game is fragmented (yet i can load it if i ignore the warning)
So it load fine, then when i try to start a mission and it freeze. I'm lost here
If PS2ESDL says that your game is fragmented, there is a chance that it really is fragmented. Under Auslogics disk defrag, what do you see if you clicked on the "Files" tab? There should be no fragmented files listed.
As far as I remember, OPL doesn't have any game file fragmentation tests on by default.
You could try to use the "Defrag and optimize" function, or just move all your files off your disk and back onto the disk.
Hi x698,
Let's me try to help you too. I dunno if which follows it is your case, anyway...
To avoid conversion issues, ensure after you ripping your original Black disc to ISO, you are converting from ISO to PS2ESDL game format via PS2DCDMP, or to UL game format via ISO2OPL... Don't use USB Extreme, USB Insane or USB Extreme or USB Util tools because them can give you conversion problems, specially on DVD9 ISOs.
To get rid of fragmented files follow these steps:
1.Copy all files from your USB HDD to your PC HDD.
2.Format your USB HDD.
3.Copy all files back from PC HDD to USB HDD.
Good luck!
Ok guys it seems i found out finally, it was a fragmentation problem, how i solved it:
1- Extracted the ISO in a folder with Apache
2- Defragmented in Folder mode (very important) with auslogics disk defrag (see in: Action > advanced > defrag folder)
3- Made a new iso with imgburn (default options)
4- Copied to the usb hdd with usbutil v2.0
Now it seems to work fine with OPL, no special mode used so far (although the videos intros are slowed down somewhat)
