I figured out, that my IDE/SATA adapter (with external Power supply) was the cause of all the trouble.
Did you provide an external power source or use a Y-cable?
My external HDD unit does not work with one of my SCPH-77006 console's USB ports. I thought that it was because that port was dead, but it was really because the cable used was faulty and was causing the unit to not receive sufficient power.
When i used it, even the small SATA 2,5" 60GB HDD gets burned up and the WD400 also didn't work properly!
This was also the course for the very slow data transfer i mentioned before.
I bought it on the Philippines from CDR King (BEWARE OF THAT CRAPP, who ever might read this!).
In this case i used an external enclosure with a PL3507 chipset (i know, it's no good for the firewire, but for USB
That's odd. Under which category was the lost space categorized under? Is it "old CHKDSK files"?
it normally works fine).
Sorry, but the only thing i remember was, that it was some sort of restore files which i couldn't remove by any
kind of defragmenting software (only on Disk Cleanup on xp it was possible to remove and see that stuff).
It also was no CHKDSK file.
The disk wasn't too full, but the new version from Auslogic works just fine! Thanks!
I'm using the latest version.
If you cannot defragment the disk totally, try using the "Defrag & Optimize" mode. If that still doesn't work, your disk is probably too full to be defragmented properly (Clear up some space then).
Unpatching is no option here, because i don't understand Japanese (i envy you, you probably can play it
Maybe. Unpatch/reinstall your game from your disc and run the game with the FORCE SYNC mode (Hold SQUARE or enable it with PS2DCDMP if the game was installed with that tool).
without the patch).:)
But since you mentioned somewhere, that Final Fantasy 12 works better on OPL, i just use it that way.
One last question, do you have any feedback about what kind of firewire chipset is working with your driver
except the Oxford 934?
I am about to buy some old firewire enclosures with some different chipsets.
Once i tested them, i will report to you if they work or not:-pray:
Have a nice day!
