Unfortunately, no.
Unless NTFS prevents file fragmentation to begin with...
I cannot say that the 250GB USB HDD you speak of here will definitely work, as compatibility with the PS2 and it's software depends on the USB enclosure and the software's USB drivers.
I installed those games in the PS2ESDL v1.22 format, and enabled a 32-sector cache.
And that is unusual. Of course, maybe those games are sensitive towards slow data transfer rates (On my SCPH-77006 console with USB HDD, data transfer rates there are usually higher than those who use either a fat PS2 and/or a USB flash disk).
There are other factors too. Your console has a modchip, and that may affect PS2ESDL.
Thanks. :)
I wanted to do something about SOCOM 3, but was unable to do anything about it right now because of school commitments.
Interesting.
But still, something is wrong.
Game compatibility should not be affected by the format the game was installed in!
Wow. That's nice. :D
Could you please upload a photograph of what you saw?
So that image you uploaded was exactly what you used as a skin (In terms of format and size)?
@All: I wanted to say this earlier, but I forgot @_@: Since v0.814 and later could use skins... I needed someone to come up with a good skin to be used with the future official releases (v0.820 and later).
I think that it should be a simple one, but of course, creativity is encouraged. :D
So go ahead and post your skins... and vote for your favorites!
Yeah, I used this image. It has 640x448 resolution in PNG format. So you can try yourself what happensQuote:

@SP193
before i show u a little bug in PS2ESDL v0.816 (i dont know if i had this problem only), i just have a wish of the new version....
Can u insert in the header of your loader a "game-format" line??
I have on my USB game-formats in PS2DCDMP, USBUtil/USBExtreme, CD-folder with iso (from OPL), DVD-folder with iso (from OPL).
So i Just want to see in the header where i am browsing when i press left or right on the trigger. (e.g. Format: PS2DCDMP, Format: USBUtil/Extreme, Format: CD-iso, Format: DVD-iso)
Or can u insert some icons for that??
So i see a little bug in v0.816. When u see my video u see what i mean....
When i start PS2ESDL the first game-list is PS2DCDMP-format (2 games).
The second game-list (long list) is USBUtil/Extreme-format.
Till here it works good
The third(4 games) and fourth game-lists(16 games) are the folders from CD and DVD folders where the iso are.
If i browse for the first time in it, the list comes up while i am in the first entry. if i browse "down" the list go away, till i come in the last entry of the list. then the list comes up again and still works then.
So this comes only for the first time when i start PS2ESDL till i browse to the last entry..
Here my video.....

Here is your skin, fixed.
I guess that I forgot to mention something important when creating a skin:
1. Your skin must have an alpha channel. Otherwise, it will cover up your background (Or, possibly because of a bug: It "disappears" like what you have observed).
2. The areas that are to be transparent must be totally transparent (Or you might observe something like in point (1)).
What I did was to add an alpha channel into the skin with GIMP 2.6, and turned the to be transparent areas from black to some colour that was not used (I used pure green in this case).
Then I selected that region by colour and hit the "DELETE" key on my PC.
Loading it on PS2ESDL v0.816 yields the correct result. :)
I know. I should have made a guide... but since v0.816 was just a system test, I didn't bother (Of course, a proper guide will be added before the formal release of v0.820).

SOCOM 3 was fixed. :D
Jimmikaelkael was right.
It was some unimplemented DEVCTL calls that were causing the game to attempt to return back to the OSDSYS screen.
For some reason, that has never worked for any game I have come across so far (And results in a BSOD).
Anyway, I've added support for DEVCTL calls 0x431D and 0x4326.
DEVCTL calls that are not supported/emulated will return 0 instead of -EIO (-5) to prevent further of such "bugs" from appearing.

EDIT:
@LopoTRI: It looks like we posted at the same time.
Since more than one person has reported experiencing the same bug, I'll look into it.
As for some indicator that indicates which format of games PS2ESDL is currently displaying, I wanted that too. :(
But when I released v0.816 I was unsure how that should be done without interfering with the users' skins.
Now I think that using the old way which PS2ESDL v0.810 used to indicate to the user the format of the games that were currently displayed is the best.
But yes, that should be done anyway.
BTW: Thanks for the video. That will save me a lot of time.
Only today in the morning i thought about transparent areas =)
Thanx!
Btw, If someone liked it, feel free to use it!=)
EDIT:
Just tried it and found strange thing.
I'm using PAL mode and in this mode it looks like this:
http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/2930/img2666.th.jpg
It looks like image are repeating and transparent color acid green now O_o
And is there a way to costumize Options screen?
Want to make it in the same style =)
I havent forgotten.......lol.....i've just been so busy i havent had time to make any skins. I should have some free time in the next few days to make some skins for PS2ESDL. :)
Do you have any plans to allow "elements" to be moved around, as to allow users to create different styles or is this the only style you planned?
Its no biggie, im just curious on how much you want to put into a skin layout. I should be able to make one today of the current layout. :D
That is another known fault with the PAL and 480P video modes.
I believe that it's caused by the PS2 displaying even areas that are outside the VRAM allocated for the graphics to be displayed on the screen (PAL displays graphics at 640x512, but if PS2ESDL was started up in NTSC mode, it will have a 640x448 framebuffer).
I guess that I know a solution to that, but it's all just assumptions (None tested so far). ;)
Haha. No problem. There isn't a time limit, and neither is anyone obligated to do anything here anyway. :)Quote:

But yea, it might get added in later on... depending on whether I feel that a layout settings file parser is easy enough to build (I was never really good at that lol ).
BTW: Thanks for the buttons.
Thats cool, whatever you do is of course fine with me........i just like making skins in my spare time....its relaxing to me. :D
Your welcome. :) Let me know if you would like anything else.
Here, i made a skin today. That center part is not really 'white', its transparent and displays black on-screen, maybe someone will like it. :)
.........another skin for PS2ESDL. :)
I barely found time today, but we are expecting a rainy week, so hopefully i'll have time to make some much better skins. :p
