    So, hey hey.

Well, here I am, again so many years late. It's easy to tell, from the way I managed to interact with technology in the 1990s and 2000s, I was quite the deprived child.

So, yeah, I was in the scene in the 80s. You guys would have been amazed at some of the stuff we managed to do back then. We took the lid off this huge Pandora's box and unleashed hell on earth. For a while, we were the gods of the valley. =(

Times change. I opted out of computer programming and dedicated myself to a more legit way of living. =) Some of my friends went ahead to a little place called Silicon Valley and made their fortunes. I wanted to grab a shot at fame and fortune in movies, so I stayed behind and became a screenwriter.

So I'm now just getting into game consoles a bit. I successfully hacked my Wii after a few tries, and managed to save all of my discs to USB. I'd like to do the same thing with my PS2 Slim 75001, and get rid of the scratched up, beaten-up discs once and for all. Haven't had that much luck however. But I figure if I can do the Wii, I can surely do the PS2. It'll just take time and patience.

Anyway, glad to be here, hope you all had a good Christmas holiday and looking forward to interacting more in the new year. Our first 2013... it's gonna be a good one if you're not too superstitious.

    Peace on Earth.

PS2 is simple just get FMCB Memory card and go Open PS2 Loader for SMB USB and internal HD for Fat models

    V10 SCPH-50001 with Network adapter SCPH-10281 500 G HD
    PSP 3000 9G 6.20 PRO CFW Perm
Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred

Yep. I'll get the hang of it. Wii was pretty simple; it was more or less pretty much saying "hack me" the minute it came out. LOL. A few little tweaks to the USB card, a trip to the online mailbox, and done.

Does it really make that much of a difference if I play a game off the USB instead of the disc? I'm hearing some people tell me not to even waste my time, because the game play is slower on a drive. Now I don't find that true, especially when I rigged an actual PC internal hard drive up to the Wii to act as a USB. Is the Ps2 game-play similar or will I see slowdowns, especially for game movies?

Yes it is slower to slow for FMV play especially it has USB 1.1 and is way slower go SMB for your model it will play the same for most games like the disk or get a fat model and network adapter for game play that is faster then disk

Ugh, I thought so. You know, it might be better not to mess around in my PS2 after all. You kinda lost me at SMB, I'm sorry to say, can you explain that a bit more? =) Sorry to ask so many questions.

I see. I've got the Wii setup on a router and home Wifi connected to our office computers. (yep, we work for ourselves at home, for 18 years and counting now). I'm pretty sure I can get the PS2 to respond to the Wifi okay, so net speed should be fine. I'm thinking more about the game-play through a USB external drive (or a rigged internal hard drive, which I'm doing now with the Wii). Or am I maybe explaining this wrong?

Personal note: Was shopping today. PS2 games are selling refurbished now for 6 bucks or less at most Gamestops. I can't even UNDERSTAND why people still try to pirate these games. They spend more freaking money on a fast food meal.

I just want to get all my games off those scratchy discs and retire them.
