Hi!
I am new to server. I am here in search to unmod my PS3 in a safe manner, so i can log onto PSN without being banned or getting my PS3 bricked. I have geo's 3.55 CFW.
It would be great if someone can guide me through that process.

Hi!
I am new to server. I am here in search to unmod my PS3 in a safe manner, so i can log onto PSN without being banned or getting my PS3 bricked. I have geo's 3.55 CFW.

What I would do is 1. format the hard drive 2. reinstall the official 3.55 firmware (just to be sure) 3. install the latest firmware. Make sure you backup all of your savegames and any music/videos/etc you have on your ps3 to an external hard drive or FTP the files to your pc before you do anything. I think that the problem that you would have if you didn't format your hard drive is that unless you stealthed your PS3 - meaning that all homebrew/games that you played were using game id's of games released in your region (eg. USA/Japan/etc) you run the risk of Sony detecting what you've run. Just look at your trophies. the PSN network loads that info when you login. If they see a game id of something not in your region, you probably will be banned unless they just check that you are on the latest firmware. I do know that they used to forgive the use of custom firmware if you updated to official firmware, but I don't know anymore. I haven't been online with my PS3 since F*ckPSN stopped working. Also I know that they used to check your browsing history to see if you visited CFW sites and what you downloaded directly to your PS3. I could be wrong about that, but it's better to be safe than sorry
welcome to psx-scene. you are sure to find all the help you are looking for here.
