photos recovery from external hard drive recovery..... –

I'm new to this forum so I apologize if this question is in the wrong place or has been asked before. I googled the question and got some different answers but none seemed to retrieve my photo. I have deleted some pictures from the external hard drive. Is there any way to recover my photos from Mac system and get all my pictures back?

there should be software around to find and undelete the photos. BUT if you have saved other things to the disk AFTER the delete then the photos may be overwritten..
file systems usually don't actually delete the files they just remove the pointers to the sectors etc.... that's why they can be undeleted. but those sectors are now flagged as writeable so if you save more data after a delete those delted sectors may or may not be used.....google for photo recovery software add in Mac so you don't get windows software.... i don't run Macs so i cant recommend anything.......

It's entirely possible, but be warned that most programs will recover everything possible. I've corrupted an SD card that was in use for a long time, and I pulled off more photos than what could physically fit in the card's capacity! IIRC it was an 8GB SD and I got 12GB or so off it. The best thing was that it didn't write to the card- it recovered and sent them to an internal HDD.
I can't remember what the program was called, but I had to dig up an old tablet to use it as it was Win XP only. Of course it wasn't 100%, but it was pretty damn close. Only a handful of photos had some visible corruption (the photo ends and the rest of the image area is filled with grey).
And another thing- it's block per block copying, so it's not going to be a speedy process. If it's a 250GB drive, you'll want to do it on a quiet, out of the way computer as it'll be ticking for some days.
To put that into perspective- I recovered someone's info and saved it as a 250GB disk image. I then "dd"ed it to the same HDD, wiped. That took 4 days straight on an i5 computer.

That's impossible.

The best thing is making sector by sector copy to other media and work on it.

Anyway, really nice app for recovery gfx files is PhotoRec on Linux. It's of course free, really fast and very functional app.

Hi,
You can recover photos from your external hard drive on Mac system by making use of Remo Recover Mac software. Once I had lost some media files and then I was able to recover files from external hard drive mac, with the help of this software.
