I'm sure this has been asked over and over, but I did some searching and couldn't come to a concrete answer. Basically I have some PS2 saves I'd love to be able to load onto my ps3 and play from there. I have CFW 3.55 so if there are any methods that involve that let me know. I know it's possible. Also if there's anyone willing to do the conversion for me I'd be way thankful (that is in case it requires extra tools or something and you offer).
Well thank you so much for any light you might be able to shed on the situation for me.

First of all, you'll need SwapMagic 3.8 to makes this happen.
Get yourself a USB pendrive. Load ULaunchELF onto there in the folder, described in Swapmagic's guide. Place it in your PS2 (if you have FreeMCBoot, this could be done more easily). Load ULaunchELF, copy the needed saves from MC to USB. This part is over.
Now, step on your PS3. Insert Swap and pendrive. Make sure you assigned PS2 format MC in corresponding menu. Once again, launch UlE, and copy your saves from USB to nessesary MC. Done.
    Cheap, wasn't it?

So there's absolutely no way without going through swap magic or anything like that? Oh and I did fail to mention, yes, I'm running Free McBoot so getting saves off is not an issue. My particular issue is loading them on the PS3 (and it seems I'd have to go through swap magic for that to happen then?). Thanks tho!

If You have CFW, just make images of this MC, add to it ECC, place in "dev_hdd0/savedata/vmc/*.VM2" and rebuild database. After that XMB will see this card image and You can export it to *.psv. This is the second solution for people who don't have bc PS3 and any kind of bootcd (i.e Swap Magic).

How would I make an image of the memory card? And yes I'm running CFW. Basically I just want an old ps2 save on my ps3. Sorry for my lack of knowledge here...
