OMG, Guess what SONY did now!!!

Ok, so here's the low down. I have two ps3's one on 3.55cfw and the other on 3.61. I mostly use the ps3 to stream movies from my pc and also have over 500 blurays on external hd's that i play through the ps3. Now with that said i have had a few cinevia issues in the past with like one or two movies on my 3.55 ps3 but have not had any issues since. However the suns a beaches at sony apparently put more cinevia stuff in the latest 3.61 firmware cause I can't play hardly nothing on it without cinevia stuff.

Is there anyway to prevent this from occurring in the cfw so that if someday a new 3.61cfw or something comes down the line i will still be able to watch my vids?

From what I noticed with Cinavia is that it mostly shows up when the movie is produced and made by Sony pictures. I haven't seen it come up for other movies that aren't made by them. 1 3.55 Kmeaw and 1 3.61 OFW. I always user PS3 Media Server to stream my movies.

im pretty sure cinivia was put in before 3.41 just use showtime works like a charm

I agree with HarleyWooD. But I think he is trying to find a solution for his console with 3.61

correct, trying to find solution for 3.61. also cinevia was in 3.55 for movies like wolfman. but new 3.61 has stuff in for battle los angelos, fast and furious 5 rio heist and whole lot more. it is like hardly anything will play. damn sony, if it's legal to have backup for your damn movie in file format then why won't they allow the ps3 to play it. sucks.

weird ya i didnt really understand what u meant sense u said u had 2 ps3's hmmmm ya sounds like ur screwed for now i know its an "audio waterwark" undetectable by the human ear hopefully sense its being used more now that someone will figure out an easy workaround to transcode or slice the sound out

I have watched Social Network and SALT no problems
Method doesnt work on 3.61 OFW

EDIT: Sound Settings > Audio Output Settings > Optical Digital > Tick the Top 7
Dolby Digital 5.1
DTS 5.1
AAC
Linear PCM 2 CH (First 4 Frequencies)

Confirm then Under Sound Settings Turn On Audio Multi Output

When I have problems playing media on my ps3 i just use my jailbroken appletv2 with XBMC on it. That thing plays everything!

i agree just use showtime no cinavia probs now but it is a bit annoying that the aspect ratio can't be fixed in showtime
