kmeaw 3.55 blu ray broken?

hi guys

Over the past few weeks i used a blu ray disc with a game(pain)to run games from mutliman.Well th last weekend i insert my blu ray disc once again but my ps3 didint show up the disc icon!i tried to rebuild the database restore the hdd and to get back to ofw 3.55 and go back to kmeaw but nothing happens!many of my friends think that my blu ray driver is broken and it needs some fixes!so what do you think?is a software problem or a hardware?any suggestions?

no chances are your bluray laser is dead it has nothing to do with firmware same thing happend with mine

1 Of my ps3's does this i turn it on and no game shows up
i have to put a dvd movie in the drive , that shows up then eject and put your bluray game back in and my disk then shows up.

Welcome to the broken blu-ray drive club, you aren't going to get anywhere by reinstalling firmware, it's a hardware problem.

Can you still return it?

Yes defo gone! I read all the rebulid database lark on the net the only fix is a new lens quite an easy job to change. Just make sure there is no disc in the drive other wise when you open the drive pop go all the gears!
