Is it possible to use a PS2 GSv2 on PSX games using special codes?

I'm just wondering, cause they gave me a retarded disc that has some PSX codes on it but not all, and I can't write codes on it cause its read only. ><

the bonus disc that came with the gs2v2 is a psx disc. it is meant for psx games.
you cannot use the actual gs2v2 disc for psx games.

That sucks! I don't want to buy another GS just for PSX games.
