I think the sequence of placing files using CDGENPS2 plays a part in creating a working and updated ARMax. Will try it out should I manage to locate the latest EU and US codelists.
Is there anyway to pack the disc into one elf to be booted using launchelf or something?
I've been messing around with this too, with mixed results.
After making four new coasters using that CDGen thingy, Magic ISO and other tools, eventually I just unpacked the image, deleted the old US_CODELIST.BIN, replaced it with the new one and burned it using Nero.
It works fine. Wierd thing is, this is the exact same method I used for my first attempt, which didn't work. It booted fine, but didn't load the codelist. Second time I used that method, it worked without any problems at all. How strange is that?![]()

Alexb999, I did the Nero thing and unpacked it but when I burned the ISO with the updated US_CODELIST.BIN AND UK_CODELIST.BIN, it booted fine but didn't load the codelist....
Can you please explain how you did it and how did you extracted the image....
Edit: I got my updated codelists from here....
US Version
http://www.datelversions.com/ar_max_...odelist_us.bin
UK Version
http://www.codejunkies.com/v3test/codelist_eu.bin
Also, I must tell you that I replaced BOTH OF THE CODELISTS in the original AR Max ISO with the updated codelists from the above links.
Any help with this regards will be greatly appreciated.
Thanx in Advance...

I'm at work right now, so I can't access my ARMAX folder...
But here's what I did:
1 - Mounted my ARMAX iso image using Nero ImageDrive, now you have an extra drive with the ARMAX folders in it
2 - Copied the contents of the ImageDrive's 'disc' to the desktop using Windows Explorer
3 - Replaced the codelists, US_CODELIST.BIN and EU_CODELIST.BIN (not UK, but EU! maybe that's where you went wrong)
4 - Burnt a new disc with Nero (simply drag the ARMAX files from your desktop into the ISO pane in Nero)
I did this twice, the first time it wouldn't load the codelists, the second time it did! Weird...
I only updated the US_CODELIST.BIN file, I now have it at version 601.
Let me know if it works out. If not, I'll experiment some more![]()

)I still can't make it work. It boots up AR Max but the codelist never loadsWhat is the name that you are giving to that new compilation ? The default of nero is "NEW"
I need you to help me alexb999 dude. Can you please make a ISO or NRG of your UPDATED WORKING AR MAX disc that you are talking about and RAR it and upload it to yousendit and thereby sending it to me...(I don't think it would be that big after you rar it)
Can you PLEASEdo that for me, I will really really really appreciate it as am sick and tired of ending up with so many coasters
Any help in this regards will be greatly appreciated.
Thanx in Advance.

)I've read the thread but I still have to ask, are you guys just modding the action replay?
Like changing the music, the interface etc? Maybe I missed the whole point here.
I'm not modding it, just updating the codelists. For some reason I can't get my AR to download codes, and I really don't enjoy entering them with the joypad. So instead, I just make a new version, with the updated codelists. Made a new one today, with the US and EU 605 codelists. Also, this means it doesn't save the new codes on Memory Card, saving space
I did change the music though, although it seems to play it too quickly, which kind of spoils it...
