is it possible to make an updated ar max disc? –
well i own the ar max evo disc and i made a backup that works fine but now i decided i wanna try to make a disc with up to date codes so downloading the updates wouldn't be hell on me (most times it freezes on me) i got the latest codelist bin and renamed it to US_CODELIST.BIN and built the disc using cd/dvdgen and iml2iso; disc boots up fine but doesn't load the new codelist
anyone ever tried doing this or got it to work?

Hi, may i find out from you what software did you use to make a backup of AR Max? I tried to do a backup but its unsuccessful.
used nero, works fine
i still need to get this working tho
Hi Thanks. Manage to make a cdr backup successfully.
Tried to convert it into a dvdr backup as well. Its succeeded, boot faster also. However, the Max Memory Manager in the dvdr backup does not work properly. Seems like its unable to read the image files properly.
The Max Memory Manager in cdr backup works fine.
Anybody knows what could be the cause?
the problem putting armax evo on a dvd is due to its long file names. dvdgen cuts them off short. You have to re name them so they fit and hex edit there new names into the elf file, as for the mem manager u need to run it though dvd scan to fix the cd/dvd checks

Updating Your Action Replay MAX Codelist via CD-R
There are many ways update your Action Replay MAX codelist. Thanks to AR MAX's powerful MAX Media software, you can even write the latest codelist to a CD-R which AR MAX can then read on your PS2. Here's how:
1: Use the Max Drive PC application (available on this page) to download the latest Action Replay MAX PS2 codelist (codelist.bin)
2: Make sure you have the latest version of Max Media Creator software (1.30) from the bottom of this page
3: Download the UMCDR Updater software (autoexec.elf) from the bottom of this page
4: Install and run the Max Media Creator 1.3 software
5: Add the autoexec.elf file and the codelist.bin file to a new project
6: Insert a blank CDR and set CDR as the output method
7: Click 'Create' and then when prompted choose 'Compatibility Mode 1' on the burn options dialogue and burn your disc.
8: Start Action Replay MAX (3.30 or later) and choose Max Media Player from the main menu
9: When Max Media Player has loaded, swap the Action Replay MAX disc for your codelist CDR
10: When the Codelist Updater runs, swap your CDR for your ARMAX disc wait a few seconds then swap it back when prompted.
11: When the codelist loads choose the codes you would like to include on your codelist and then press ?CIRCLE' on your controller
12: When asked where you would like to save your codelist to, choose either memory card slot or USB Pen-drive if you have one by highlighting it and pressing 'X'.
Once complete, re-load Action Replay MAX with the device you saved the codelist to inserted in your PS2. The updated, customised codelist SHOULD be present.
