Loading codes with ESR Loader

Hi.

I was wondering if it was possible to load codes, from a Codebreaker disc as an example, to use on backups that I would normally boot using the ESR loader which was stored on my memory card (I have the Free MCBoot custom setup). In Codebreaker, after you select your codes, you have to swap the Codebreaker disc with the game disc, I would need to be able to load the ESR loader before it tries to boot the disc, and I have no idea if that is possible. I was hoping maybe someone here would know if it is indeed possible.

My PS2 isn't modded, by the way.

but i don't think he said or mentioned anything related to HDLoader for play games off hdd ..but if he is playing games off hdd then he should follow that link ..

No, I don't have HDLoader because I don't have a hard drive for my PS2 (Which is why I need to swap disks). Unless that version of Codebreaker somehow magically works with the ESR loader.

this actually has nothing do with HDLoader, its just patched CB, boots to a ELF instead of to disc

Well, for some reason, I can not find a codebreaker elf file that will run on my system using uLaunchELF. I select the .elf file, load it, then it turns to a black screen and does nothing more. I've tried a few codebreaker files and tried loading them from my memory card and my USB pen drive.

I don't know if anybody actually answered his question to his satisfaction or not, but I have a much easier way...

Bootlet asked jimmy not too long ago about finding a solution to such a problem, Bootlegs idea was to have a simple app that can load directly to the systems main menu

I followed the topic for a while, but I can remember where it was that I found all that in.

if anyone is interested in the the app, all it is is a simple simple hook that loads back to the main menu without reseting the IOP, and with FMCB 1.7 and above you can select any app you want to load from the system menu directly loading the ELF you choose, be it hdload, or esr, or a retail disc, it works with all three formats

you will need the hacked CB 9.2 elf that was edited my ffgreiver though, as this loader elf is supposed to replace hdload in your mc's bootloader as cb_launch.elf

For some reason this method doesn't work with my version of Codebreaker (8.1). It just acts the same way as if you were to try to start game with no disc inserted.

Also, for some reason my Codebreaker will not recognize my pen drive anymore, even though uLaunchELF still recognises it and I had to use this pen drive with this version of Codebreaker to install Free MCBoot.

Nothing is working, and I have no idea why. I can't use the memory card swap trick, I can't load any codebreaker.elf files (I tried an unpatched cracked 9.2, a patched cracked 9.2, and an uncracked 9.3, none worked), and now Codebreaker won't recognize my pen drive.

I had a slimline that gave me tons of issues, is was a v12

it could have been due to the fact that I installed FMCB on an older console then booted it on the slim, also I toyed around using the 75kb slim DVDELF.BIN file

eventually I just got rid of the system because it kept having issues loading apps, and getting usb sticks to work with different homebrew, where it once worked, and then stopped, just like with you. only, for me it didn't work with the snes emu, but it worked in uLE.

try installing the exploit on the slim system itself. if you don't have an AR with max media player (easiest method on the slim) it is quite easy to make an exploit if you have 007 agent under fire, a memory card, and a burnable dvd

this method doesn't require having to buy a $20 cheat disc though you seem to already have one- or resort to using the ps1 exploit, that obviously wonk work on your slim, you can pick up 007 for under $10 at gamestop

the 007 method works even on the newest v18's that don't support the DVDUPDATE exploit

unfortunately all I have is my burned (hacked) copy of 007 set aside ready to go and I can't remember where I got the information from on how to set it up, but with a quick travel on the google express you'd be sure to reach your destination soon.

as it goes for the cheat engine not working, you need to use a cracked version that's patched to load an elf when you click "start game" - I'm not sure if 8.1 was cracked for that or not.. at least, I never heard about any version before 9.2 being cracked for elf loading. (I use v9.2 that uses the GSHI server for dling codes *still works!! :)* and loads up that cb_launch.elf in the boot folder)

The DVDELF.bin doesn´t interfere with the functionality of FMCB.
It is just for user of FAT-PS2s, which want to use the small DVDELF.bin for faster boot-up and smaller osdmain.elf/KELF/(FMCBs mainloader is embedded there) --> more free space on MC.

Which FMCB-Version was/is it?

That doesn´t change anything.
The slims already have those DVDPLx/DVDELF.bin(s).

However,... It seems it helps, while install if some Modchips can invoke the FMCB-Install.
