AR2 Freeze

I just bought an Action Replay for my PS2 but when I load it up and start putting in codes, or selecting the codes I want, it will randomly freeze up on me. I have done the switching the game disc and AR disc right after it loads but it still freezes. I'm not sure how old my PS2 is but I had a GS2V2 and it worked fine on it, well until it broke that is. I don't want to go MAX yet, maybe in the future, for now the codes I use are only for AR2 and I was just wondering if there is a fix that someone knows of besides the one mentioned above. Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this I just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem. Codejunkies support just tells me to get a MAX so they are no help. I have also tried holding all the buttons and reseting but that also is no good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AR v2 doesn't work on the new versions of PS2(the 50001 versions and up).You will have to get a codebreaker,arMax, or a gsV3 V4.
