AR MAx Memory Manager Problem
AR MAx Memory Manager Problem –
just got ar max (usa version) for my ps2 (scph-39001) and when the memory manager loads up, the screen goes all weird. it goes black and white and keeps scrolling. hard to explain. it's kind of like when you were a kid trying to watch the ******* channel through the static even though you couldn't really tell the difference between a titty and an elbow. it looks something like that.
tried searching around and couldn't find anyone with the same problem. thanks for any help.
You likely have a TV format problem. Is your console a PAL, or NTSC model? Is your TV PAL, or NTSC? Some PAL region TVs are multi-format aka PAL 60, but most aren't. A very small few TVs sold in North America are multi-format too, but are rarely advertised as such.
Most HDTVs will accept all format types. If you try it on one and it works, you'll know for sure that's what it is.
If you are using all NTSC PS2 and TV, you likely didn't get a NTSC version of ARMax.
If you are using all PAL PS2 and TV, you likely don't have a multi-format TV.
well, my ps2 works just fine and action replay works just fine. it's just when i load up the memory manager that this happens.
and my ps2 is ntsc. guessing my tv is ntsc? and my ar max disc says made for us consoles so i'm guessing that's ntsc. tried it on 3 different tvs. none of which are hdtv. if i can't figure it out, will probably pass by a friend's house and try it on his hdtv sometime tomorrow.
If you are using the Max Memory Manager that is in the Memory Plus 64MB then it definitely is PAL only from the reports of everyone I have seen.
Perhaps they included this feature in the new NTSC AR Max disc, but forgot to change the TV mode.
Is this a retail disc? What is the version number on the inner ring of the disc?
yeah, just got it from a gamestop today. says version 3.50
thanks for your help, by the way
Can you take a pic of what the box looks like, or post a pic from the codejunkies site that looks exactly like your box.
I ask this so other people in the future can know what will happen when they get the same version.
