Hi im new to these forums, i have been experimenting with backing up my games and running them without the cds, using a free version of usbadvance and an mc boot exploit.(used my friends modchipped ps2 to install it)

Im not sure if this is the right section, its a bit of two sections, so i will put it here, someone move it if you think it should be moved.

I am running a v4/5 fat ps2, with a boot mc exploit installed (the one that boots into ulaunch elf when the memory card is inserted) and no mod chip, no internal hd and no ethernet adapter.

Ok so i managed to backup my ARmax disk and install it with USBadvance (free version)

It loads fine, along with my other backup. It loads my code list that i updated (XX_codelist.bin) (by editing the iso before install), but it always says in the background please insert game disk or dvd now. Even when i put a disk in, and if i put in a game disk and press advanced mode and select cheats manually, it saves the settings then the screen goes black when the game is meant to load.
(also when i press the keyboard looking icon the screen goes black)

I suspect this is because its looking on the usb hd for a game, instead of looking for it from the real CD/dvd drive, even tho the disk makes noises as if its being read.

Is there a way to get ARmax to work with my retail games when loaded as a backup through USBExtreme? i soon will no longer be in possession of my retail ARmax disk, and would like to be able to still use it.

if its not possible, is there a way to inject ARmax into an iso i make from one of my games then install that into my usb hd through the ul_install command on usbadvance? (or the other way around, put a game iso into the armax iso)
that way it would be detecting a game disk in its own way...

    Can anyone help me?
