transfered games through black box ftp, I can see them and they are correctly represented in Multiman game menu, but when I press "X", multiman just goes in to a black screen for few seconds and then throws me back to the xmb menu. I have no game in the drive - is that the problem? Got no error messages or anything. Can anyone launch some game with empty drive and confirm this?

You should probably do a bit more reading, that's how multiman works, you need a game in the drive (any game will do), it will be replaced on xmb with the game you chose in multiman.
