Disgaea 3 with Kmeaw's Lv2 patch
Disgaea 3 with Kmeaw's Lv2 patch –
I followed the guide on the front page to get Multiman installed and working on my 3.55 PS3. I have 8 games and the only one that doesn't work is Disgaea 3. When I try to launch it the game tries to update the console firmware to 2.30. I let it try, but the system just locked up and rebooted itself. If I cancel the update, I get a black screen but the XMB is still accessible. Choosing 'quit game' doesn't work, but instead makes the system reboot.
Can I get around this problem? If it were a PSP or Wii game you would patch the disc image to remove the firmware folder but I'm new to the PS3 scene so I'm stumped.
In the game folder, there's a PS3_UPDATE folder that contains the firmware update. You can just delete that.

What combination of CFW and patches gets this to work? I'm currently on kmeaw 3.55 CFW, using MultiMAN 1.13.0 and/or the latest Gaia. I get stuck at a black screen on startup and trying to quit from the XMB overlay makes my PS3 beep three times and shut off. Any help?
Its working to me now!
I just downloaded the v2.3 update (about 450Mb) with PS Game Updater 1.2, instaled the .pkg and restarted the PS3.
OBS: I updated LittleBig Planet too, but didnt loaded the game anymore, so i deleted the update and its started to work again.
I got Kmeaw CFW 3.55 + MultiMAN 1.14.00
Working with multiman v1.15

I was having this issue with Kmeaw and Multiman... tried copying to internal HDD and patching with update pkg and it wasn't working. Was about to try the whole rinse repeat until I downloaded multiman 1.15. Disgaea 3 now works if it's installed to an external drive and loaded with Select + X from multiman v1.15 with no patch.
Not going to even bother updating it now as long as it works this way
