Backed up my bluray disc but no sound from ps3

Hi I have backed up my bluray discs using DVdFAB and have tried playing the .m2ts video files on the ps3, the video works fine but there is no sound what so ever. When i play the files on my pc using VLC however the files play perfectly with sound. I dont know what has happened and why the ps3 wont output any sound. can anyone help. Is there a setting in the ps3 i need to change to get sound.

its because of the blu ray security on ps3 it wont play sound

After a bit of investigating and googling the problem i discovered that PS3 wont play DTS sound tracks unless they arre from an original bluray disc. It will play dolby digital but not DTS sound tracks which is completely ridiculous. nice one SONY, i might sell this thing a build myself a nice high spec PC atleast then I wont have all this hassle. I wont be buying another games console ever again thats for sure.

Sounds like selling it would be the best option for you.

You could also simply buy a nice blu-ray player and be perfectly happy with it (unless you are talking about pirating movies).
