why doesnt someone come out with CFW that instead of connection to the psn it connects to different servers, so say for instance, your playing killzone 3 and want to play online (not lan) you press connect and it takes you to a non psn server to play the game. or either, have like everyone else is saying, a homebrew channel for the ps3 that we can connect to and it would be like a server for jailbroke ps3's.
does anyone get what im saying?
sign into the "non psn server" when you select "sign in" on the ps3, this takes you to a jailbroke ps3 network and have like a database of homebrew and could chat and such, and if you wanted to play you startup your game and goto "online" play (where usually it would take you to psn) and play other people.
i think this would put an end to worrying about gettin on psn, they patch the **** to fast and we need just to throw down the gauntlet and make our own jailbroke PSN network.

You could theoretically use a P2P server which will connect you to other people without a central server. But someone skilled would need to set it up

someone would need to use a pc program that sniffed out the connection going to PSN servers, then the program would intercept the signal connection and reroute it to a custom server. and you could do this so all you would have to do is open the program on your computer, then click "sign in" on your ps3. the PSN store would become PSXstore
and such. then after you sign in... you can play any game you want on the internet through this customized server.
i think this needs to become high priority... maybe someone should let a programmer/networker know like REBUG. they could make a custom firmware that included something of this nature, and you wouldnt even need a program on the pc. you would change the server address to the custom one on the ps3... if i had a server and the knowledge to do this i would have already done it.
