What you will need

A LAN cable (if you dont know what that is, the fact you are on the internet means you do have one)
Basic Intelligence (Kinda hard to find)
Your backup you want installed (Not telling you were to get it)
Okay first, if you have the official Sony 3.55 and no custom firware, skip to step 12
1: Open up your flash drive
2: Create a folder called "PS3"
3: Create a folder inside that called "UPDATE"

6: Take flash drive out of Computer
7: Put it in PS3 (if you dont know how....just gtfo)
8: On Ps3 scroll over to "Setting"

25: Take out the plugs that connect your ps3 to your tv (video cables) WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT TURN OFF THE PS3
26: Plug them back in
27: Now wait for the firmware to install
If you followed everything, your good. Any bricked are entirely from your stupidity
Now to install that LEGAL BACKUP of yours
28: Put usb stick into PC

30: Right click the following two links and save them to your flash drive
FTP server pkg
make sure there both un-rared and that the pkg is in the usb stick
31: Plug stick into PS3
32: Scroll to "Game"
33: go down to "install pkg files"
34: Install both of them
Once thats done, your gonna wanna follow the following guide
Also, I suggest using the free trial of FlashFXP. It eliminates some bugs that filezilla has
35: OKAY assuming you were competent enough to follow that guide you will be connected to the PS3 and be viweing its files
36: Locate your backup "make sure sits un rared" in your computer (left side of the FTP)
37: On the right side of your FTP program is the Ps3's files. click on "hdd0"
38: Click on GAME (the uppercase one not the lower case)
39: Drag the backup into this folder
40: This will take from 30 minutes to an hour. If you use FlashFXP, on the bottem right hand corner, it should have a queue ttime remaining. On windows 7, the toolbar icon will fill up with green as it completes
41: Once its done, exit everything
42: Go back to your Ps3
43: Exit blackbox
44: Put ANY PS3 disk into diak drive
45: Enter multimanager
46: If you did everything right, your game will be on the list, click it
47: Click no
48: Back on the XMB, click on disk "should have your game name"
49: Play the game
Anything that went wrong is not my fault. There are 2 things that may happen wrong
1: Game may bring you back to XMB.
list of games that I know do that
a. Raging Blast 2
2: FTP transfer may time out
