While trying to install KMEAW CFW it stated I had the latest FW so recovery mode was needed to do the system update. I followed the steps to get into the recovery menu and after the double beep the screen flashes black then goes to no signal all while the ps3 is still on. I need to get into the recovery menu any help would be appreciated. Thanks

But when you power on normally it works? If ps3 is off, keep pressing the power button until you hear a second beep, release then. Shutdown ps3 over xmb and do the steps to go to recovery.

The PS3 loads fine normally. I followed the steps listed and it still does the screen flash black then nothing.

Have it turned off. Press and hold the power button. The Ps3 will now turn on, boot up, then turn off. Once it has turned off, let go, and press and hold the power button again until it beeps twice. You should be in recovery.

I did those exact steps and got the black screen flash and no recovery menu. I am currently using a component cable I may buy a composite like the original cable that came with it. Any alternative ways to this menu?

Sorry man, I only just learnt how to do it myself. When you get the double beeps does the screen stay black and the ps3 stay on or does it restart/shutdown?

The screen just flashes black then the tv loses the signal from the PS3 but it's still on.
