I have a fat model PS3 and want to install a CFW. At this point I have 3.50 OFW installed. After researching I am leaning towards KMEAW CFW for the 3.55. What exactly are the patches needed for or are they no longer needed? Also what backup manager works well with this firmware. I purchased a 500 gb internal drive and also plan on having a 2tb external eventually. Any suggestions on the process of installing the new fw and getting the games working correctly would be appreciated. Thanks

Most of the new backup managers have LV2 patchers in them but it seems to cause more problems than good.
My advice is to always run LV2 patcher when you turn on your PS3.

multiMAN,Rogero,GAIA work excellent and are being supported by theit developers. Test them out and see which is better.

I wouldn't advise you to purchase the external because it needs to be formatted in FAT32 meaning that you can place 4 GB max at time. To me completely useles, especially because you have 500 gb internal which is enough for 50+ games.

There is an excellent tutorial on this site:http://psgroove.com/content.php?666-...ng-Backups-PSN

Also search the comments, there is a link for prepatched KMEAW CFW.

I have a 60gb internal. Does this mean I can't do anything? 60gb is not nearly enough and if anything I connect can only amount to 4gb each then I seem to be lost.

I have 40GB and I currently have 4 games on.

If you want to expand your hard drive space, buy an internal 2.5 HDD.

    They are cheap and good.

Do I need to delete game data or game saves currently on the hard drive before installing CFW?
