Help installing Linux with Petitboot

Is there anything im missing? Im trying to get it to install onto my external HDD (I dont want to, and wont wipe my internal). I have an EXT3 partition ready for the installation, but I have room on the FAT32 section if I need to use it. Why is my system going down? :(

are you getting the error at the petitboot screen? you may want to select your boot option and unplug the keyboard and mouse (if any) imediately, after you see the booting process starting you can hook up the keyboard and mouse (this happened to me as well), from what i know the most updated procedure to install linux on ps3 is at gitbrew, also i recommend using Red Ribbon as your Linux distro since its designed for the ps3, but i believe other regular PPC distros will work, maybe youll need to tweak it so it will run better, well, good luck
