First: I didn't know in which section this belongs to so I've put it here
I'm thinking about getting a HDMI Capturecard (AverTV HD DVR)
But there is one problem; HDCP which prevents the card from capturing HDMI directly so i would have to buy fraps too for recording.
So my question is:
Is HDCP software-side or hardware-side? What does it exactly do?
Would it be possible to remove t by software-hacking/cracking it somehow without buying expensive stuff?
The 360 doesnt have HDCP, so why does PS3 have?
fyi, I don't want to use Component Cables(!)
