Hey ok first off I will start by saying yes this does not work for some games like GT5 for example but it will work for the majority of games.

NOTE: This is for games larger than 10GB but if the same thing happens with games that are less then try this too.

I have MultiMan 1.15.03 so if your not running it and have problems I can't help you.

    Here we go:

First Step: Insert game you want to copy and boot up MultiMan, select backup with O.
Select whatever one you want, if you have a storage media device attached then select cancel on backup to internal and your storage device will come up as next option.

2nd Step: Once its all done copying, remove your storage device and connect it to your computer.

3rd Step: Go into the folder with your freshly copied game and in the folder name it will have an underscore at the start, REMOVE ONLY THE UNDERSCORE.
*If the Game Name comes up after the BCES00... then delete that too, GT5 did this but gets to loading and stops.

4th Step: Remove storage device from PC and reconnect it with your ps3.

5th Step: Boot up MultiMan (with a different game in the drive to be sure that it worked) and load up the game, remember to press no for booting straight away.

6th Step: Select the game on home, should have replaced game in the drive and you are done.

NOTE: This worked for Resistance FOM completely and Gran Turismo 5 got up to the loading screen (still working on it)

If this helped you please post a reply for confirmation.

i dont get it....what do you do with the split files >4gb? the ps3 doesnt merge them on the fly, so this is useless. maybe im wrong here but aint that the only thing why you make games onto internal instead of external (large files i mean), or is there anything else which forces you to back it up on internal?

    What are you finding tricky?
It looks straight forward to me.
I don't have the capability of doing a video right now, but I will help if I can.
I would much rather go to my grave not needing my gun, than go there wishing I had it.

Im sorry, i cant believe this will really work...
the split files are not auto merged by the ps3 and you might get to a point ingame where you need those files and it will probably crush.

but of course i might be wrong.

What I think he forgot to add in his steps was this: http://www.ps3exploits.com/2010/09/r...iles-on-fat32/

And that will only work for a strict number of games. As long that the file that is larger than 4GB is a .psarc. But some games like motorstorm 2 that has a .psarc larger than 4GB can't be extracted with it, gives errors. Also, with Killzone 2 and 3 games it don't work.

As I said this worked for me with resistance fall of man, multiman was saying could not boot because split files but i took out the underscore and then it booted fine. Most of you will know that resistance is 17GB. Also clocked the game with copied version without it crashing.

@bEoRnOtToBe, yeah it usually is like that but some games work if you take out the underscore, otherwise you the split file merger released on here a while ago, should work like a charm. Thats if your having trouble though, I used it with GT5 and it works fine now.

@peeer, the split file merger on this site is a lot less complicated than the one you are referring to. My way works with Killzone 2 I found out so good news lol I have not tried it with Killzone 3 though.

Games that do not work with this method to date:
    Gran Turismo 5 - 19GB
Red Dead Redemption - 7-8GB (not sure why, other games like mafia 2 and test drive unlimited 2 work fine)

please post on games that are not working with this method, cheers

BTW I am running multiman 1.16.06 now, not that its much different lol.

This would only work with games that have the cut-scenes or extra languages on the remainder of that split file. With split files, they are readable as normal but are missing specific data. If someone sat down and made a properly working game ripper, we'd be able to do something similar to all games that have files over 4gb.
